Information on travel services provided.

We politely request that you book your travel appointment at least 6 weeks before departure. The earlier the better! This is because most vaccines require at least two weeks to become effective and some vaccines require more than one dose.

Due to demand for our services we are unable to meet requests for travel appointments less than 6 weeks before departure.

Most travel clinics can provide appointments at short notice however be aware that their services will incur a fee.**

Some vaccines provided for travel purposes are available free on the NHS, however there are some vaccines where charges will apply.*

Where vaccines occur a fee, this is applicable to all travellers irrespective of age or NHS entitlement. The nurse will inform you if there is a fee payable for the vaccines you require during your appointment.

Any fee due must be paid prior to administration of the vaccine.

Malaria medication is not provided free by the NHS.

If malaria medication is issued on prescription a private prescription charge will apply.* Further charges will also be applied when the prescription is dispensed by the pharmacy.

Malaria medication can also be purchased at the pharmacy (this may not be suitable for all destinations)  or can be purchased direct from travel clinics or via the internet.

It is recommended that you obtain advice either from a reputable travel site, travel clinic or the practice nurse as to the most suitable medication you require before you purchase your tablets.
