Patient Rights & Responsibilities

Please read the guidelines concerning Patient Rights & Responsibilities available at reception. These also deal with issues of data protection & confidentiality.

Responsibility for your child whilst in the surgery

Please be aware that any child or young person attending the surgery should be with a responsible parent, guardian or carer, and it is THEIR responsibility, NOT the responsibility of Practice Staff, to ensure that the child or young person behaves in an orderly and respectful manner.

Most of the people visiting our surgery are here because they are unwell so we would be grateful if all children and young people are encouraged to remain calm and avoid excessive noise which may upset other patients'. Whilst we understand that a waiting room or other areas in a GP surgery may not be the most pleasant place for a child to spend time, we would ask that they refrain from running round and causing problems which may pose a Health & Safety risk to other people.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Use of mobile phones in clinical areas

The use of mobile phones to take photographs of staff and/or other patients' is strictly prohibited and would be deemed an invasion of privacy. We would appreciate all patients' use of mobile technology whilst on surgery premises to be kept to a minimum.

Anyone that does not respect the rights of our staff and patients' to go about their business without fear of their privacy and dignity being violated can expect to be removed from the Practice list.

Again, we thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
